confused | Walmart returns without receipt on opened item? |
I was given a remote car starter as a gift and it said on the package "easy to install" well it's not and I want to return it. All the pieces are still new and I didn't attempt to install them or anything. The plastic packaging is just cut open at the top. Will Walmart take it w/o the receipt? |

They will probably take it back if they are sure it was purchased there and they will run it by the bar code.....since you don't have the receipt, they will issue you a "credit" in the form of a giftcard. |

You can return anything at Walmart. Just say "I need to return this, it was a gift." |

Walmart will allow exchanges on just about anything, as long as they carry the product. You can explain that you got the thing as a gift, tried to figure it out, and decided it was too much of a hassle anyway. Tell them you'd like to exchange it for something you do like, and they will usually give you a gift card with the value on it, or they may ask you to get another item and they will take care of the difference up at the courtesy desk. Don't expect cash back without a receipt this close to Christmas. |
