I can't BELIEVE Walmart of all places wouldn't exchange your product... that's CRAZY... I've taken back SOO much stuff without a problem....
I think you should definitely call the home office....
I'm sure you can find it on their website walmart.com
or better yet, go back to the store you went to and ask for a manager.... and if they won't hear you, ask for their manager... work your way up... Walmart's known for their willingness to make the customer happy.

You definitly have every right to be irritated. This is not the fact that you can spend the money. It is the principal of a company selling yucky bad food products that can cause foodborne illness.Obviously if it smelled bad and was slimy it was bad. Since the product was not expired i am guessing it sat out of tempature for a period of time. Wal-mart is bad about this type of stuff. I have been shopping there late at night and seen them have meat cheese milk eggs all kinds of refrigorated items setting out . I even seen a guy leave a pallet of cold items on the sales floor, telling a coworker its lunch time....I thought to my self should he not be putting that up in a cold area while hes at lunch..moral of the story..I dont buy perishable items at walmart any more!!! I do know of a 1800# you can call it is as follows
1800walmart (18009256278) 24-7. Or I would go to thier website www.walmart.com and select contact us, and send them an email compalint....

Been there done that! I know you both are pissed but you have to ask yourself - is it really worth your time? My advice: Chock it up to a lesson learned and find a good butcher, or grocer who'll back up their products and then do your business with them. The trouble with dealing with big corporations is you can almost never get to the person who's actually in charge - and that's the way they like it.
Me, I don't mind paying a couple cents more on the dollar for t-bones from the local guy I know won't sell me meat that has gone bad. Plus, if I do run across a problem, I know just who to ask for at the counter when I want to return any product in question.
Good thing you guys didn't eat that crap!
Soon to be wife
Yuck. That is most definitely a health hazzard. I would report them to the local health inspector.

You're very good at picking befitting usernames.
It's lunchmeat. Most of WalMart's cheapy, generic lunchmeat is slimy and smelly. If you have a problem with it, just no longer buy that brand and go for something better. Healthy Choice is a great brand. Unless you just bought an entire trolley full of meat, why the fuss to be refunded? It's just a few dollars and if their policy is to not refund anything if the receipt is ripped and the transaction number is missing, it really shouldn't be a big enough deal to constitute you running off to the Internet to complain.
If you call their superiors they'll bend over within seconds, as all people in high positions do, but it's not really a battle you should even try bothering.
