Want to make complaint to HSBC against how i was treated, would it be worthit?
Iv never made a formal complaint before, but i am about to call hsbc's complaint department. Earlier today i was cashing cheque from British Gas, had the relevant i.d and was laughed at, told i had the wrong info. i then showed what was asked to bring as id, which i all had. and i was told dont argue, and was waiting for 15 mins before i finally gt the payment by the colleauge tht instructed me where to cash cheque(and who alredy check and said i.d was fine)
to put bluntly the cashier basically didnt think i was ligit, and some the questions she asked me were not relevant. its a obvious case of predijuce, dont know what i done to her..
i suffer from anxiety disorder and depression, and i specifically went early to avoid it being too busy. during this incident i was feelin very uneasy after i realised what was happening, started sweating and slight shaking, and had to call mum as i felt very uneasy (lol).
Is it worth me making a complaint, would anything come from it? i understand i gt the money in the end as i had right info but i was really treated quite bad.
thanks

Complain every time. Try to be a little more brief though as by the time you finish what you say the listener will forget what it was about. Make sure you have the name of the cashier and anybody else that helped to cause the problem. Also mention specifically the person that did help you.
Make the point that you were treated like a criminal in front of other customers and it cost you acute embarrassment and that you want some compensation for the bad treatment.
Best of luck.

If the cashier in good faith thought that there was something wrong with your ID, then you should be glad that she put you through hoops to get your check

Would you want someone with a fake ID to make withdrawals from yoru account because the cashier was afraid to hurt their feelings?

Do complain to the bank. HSBC basically does nothing. HOWEVER, if you start badmouthing them on sites, they actually do browse for badmouthing about them and contact the customers to try to resolve and get the badmouthing removed from websites.
So complain - if no result, start posting your experience on websites and they'll listen.

Get the name of the Branch Manager and write directly to him/her. If the person that served you was wearing a name tag, make sure you name them in your letter. I have found that when I have had to make a complaint they are normally very good/helpfull in their responses. You should also send a copy of your letter to the Head Office, just to ensure that you get a proper response. Good Luck

Yes you should complain, the problem, today is these people are poorly trained, or too interested in yapping to there collegues.

They should have the skill to identify if you are valid, without making you feel you are a criminal.

If you do nothing, then things never improve

my mum used to work there and most of the time they just put it to one side and leave it they don'tt do nothing your best of ringing the manager

GhostDawg
you can make a complaint about that person, I doubt they'll do much, but you'll probably get an apology and the cashier will get a warning

Personally if this me, I wouldn't complain, we are all human, even though it was wrong of the clerk.

The main reason is, what do I actually get out of it? Nothing.

EDIT:
ANF said "and that you want some compensation for the bad treatment."

What does compensation achieve? Nothng, just a bit of extra money but the embarrassment doesn't go away.
