I think "Nothin much" is pretty well the only good answer there is unless you have something going that u want to talk about say "things are good,I am the new teamleader" and so on.
Similar dilemma occurs when someone asks "Kya chal raha hai" in hindi, anyway solution is just the same |

just say... 'It's all good'..especially to a boss,...that's all they want to hear anyway. |

Usually you tell someone what is currently happening at the moment. Or the objective you're currently aiming to complete. Whether it be life, work, or other is up to you. |

I actually hate when people say that. I end up just saying, "oh nothing" I think "what's up?" has replaced , "How are you?" People don't really want an answer , they just greet you that way. |

Honestly, at least 90% of the time when people ask that question they are not actually waiting for an answer. Usually it is just a greeting now a days.
They just wait for a soundbyte before moving on. Why not reverse it and ask them "what's up" before they can ask you? |

well I'm a girl.. and I totally understand what you mean.. I usually just say "Um.. nothing much" or else I just say "I'm good so what's up with you?" or else if there's something important going on in my life I tell them what it is. Hope this helped, and good luck! |

Say "Nothin' man...what's up with you?" |

If it is your boss or some such I would think he or she may be referring to your work. If it is just someone passing in the hallway then it is just a form of greeting like "how you doing?". It really doesn't require much of an answer about anything would do excepting something rude or inappropriate of course. |

Just tell them what you are working on if you must tell them something. Its realy like they are asking how are you doing, or you could say not much and keep it moving |
|

abhinav

smile back and say that "Nothing much". How are you? |

That I was sick of questions like that one and that "Whazz up" is none of their business. People assume because they have to WORK closely together that their LIVES should be close together. I do not agree. I think we should all have the right to be left alone in our private lives. Besides - the emphasis at work should be WORK and not play. |

One head nod
~then~
Say "What's up?" back
It's not a question anymore. Just like how "howdy" used to mean "hi, how are you"....it's just a greeting now.
<nod>
"What's up"
Now you try. |
