Let me tell you from experiance, never ever belittle your staff, if you have to correct them over something that has been finished wrong, put in kind words with your correction. Praise them often and let them know that they are the best at what they do. Praise is a great motivator!!! I know, because the office I work for always finds fault, and does not praise nearly enough! Thanks

Check with your local community Colleges. They may have motivation seminars that will help you reach your staff. I have attended a couple, and they always come up with ideas that help supervisors deal with many problems in the work place. |

Set goals for them and if they meet their goals give them a reward such as gift certificates for free dinners at a local restaurant, movie tickets, gift cards for gas, gift cards for local stores, and maybe cash. If that doesn't motivate them, then nothing will. |

Motivation of others is a form of encouragement...kind of like a cheerleader. To motivate your staff, be enthusiastic...be open to suggestions...and be honest with them. |

Hard work should be rewarded, at least with recognition, but where possible with money and promotions. You should be open to their ideas and suggestions and give them the opportunity to help improve the company and find ways to do their jobs better. At the same time, you should set standards for the workplace. There should be consequences for tardiness, goofing off, misuse of company time or resources. When a hard-working employee sees a lazy employee getting away with murder, the hard-working employee gets very discouraged and demoralized. Hope that helps. |

Motivation is a joint effort and to motivate you have to be ready for rewards and recognition of the staff !
If you are an honest manager and have the ability to have faith on your staff...and the responsibility and ownership you give to your staff....should be able to motivate them............ |
