We will boycott EXXON and Mobile until year end and longer if they don't reduce the price of gas down to the $1.50 per gallon range. When they reduce the price and people start buying from them again, then the other oil companies will have to follow suite.

I work in the oil gas and petrochemical industry.
I can tell you that if enough people around the world would boycott Exxon Mobile for more than just one day. Would take weeks if not even Months that oil and gas prices would go down. If in there city there is no Exxon Mobile stations then Texaco Shell should be boycotted. If there is not either of these companies then hit the largest US oil company Valero. But it will take millions of people to boycott and show that the public means business. There is no lack of oil for production they are simple holding back to inflate the cost. Which will once again show record high earnings for all of these companies.

Not really. If everyone stopped buying from Exxon and used the other providers, then the other providers would run out of gas pretty quickly due to supply and demand chain effects. What would happen is that they would buy their gas from Exxon and overall all prices would go up, not down.

I really wish that could happen. I think it would be great if NOBODY got gas anywhere for just one day. The only problem is getting everyone to cooperate.
