chrismyarse | Well, so Tesco isnt the supermarket we all loved? |
C4 documentary highlights the underhand way Tesco is changing Britain, just like Walmart has to the US. Off shore accounts, land banks and a very dodgy computer for schools scheme (parents need to buy a million pounds worth of shopping for one trampoline / 3,000.00 for one football. The Tesco clubcard is watching what you buy and when you buy - they know when you have your period and when you need condoms - they even keep information on your race - this was one of the reasons I cancelled my clubcard and requested my data to be deleted - lets just hope it has been! Your thoughts.... |

Tesco is like Microsoft, it is becoming more powerful and as it grows, it's influence on people's lives increases, just as it's political influence.
The best thing to do is just ignore it and don't buy from them (thankfully there are plenty of alternatives).
Companies collect too much information. I worked in a call centre, and I know about this, someone buys something once from a TV shopping channel and their details are then stored for years on the database; there is a question saying "are you happy for us to share your details with 3rd party companies", but we were instructed to not ask this unless the customer mentions this specifically. Personally, I never register my information with companies unless I can help it and always pay cash.
Big Brother can watch over someone else. |

Why does it matter if Tesco know what i buy? do you go round a supermarket with a covered trolley in case desperate foreign intelligence services find out how many bags of crisps you bought this week?
At the end of the day its the cheapest place to shop, I dont care if small shops go out of business because of supermarkets, I dont care if they track what I buy and I never collected computers for schools vouchers anyway - all I want is cheaper shopping. If you dont like it vote with your feet and go elsewhere - because the rest are SOOOOOOOO much better aren't they? |

I think you're going over the top with this one Tesco like any other store is trying to make money the best way to do this is to give the customers the best service they can the best way possible if this means knowing what you want and when you want it by research what's the harm. |
