They are suppose to be making sure that what you have in your cart is whats on your receipt. Also they highlight it for return purposes. To prove it was checked. |

They are supposed to be counting the items in your basket to make sure it matches the items sold on the receipt. Since they don't bag your stuff like grocery stores, it would be easy for someone to walk out with something they didn't pay for. |

To make sure you don't have extra items in your cart but they'll say it's to make sure you aren't charged for items not in your cart. And yes, that's really their job. |

They keep track of who's paid this way.also if a store has a security guard he might think some one is a possible suspect of stealing some thing but when he see's the highlight on receipt he knows it's been checked and is ok. |

They are just checking your receipt to check on their cashiers, you'd be surprised how many items get by without being charged, they are human and they make errors. There not checking you, it's an internal check. |

To be honest, I think its really annoying. Its really not fair. I mean, the doorway is right there. The cash registers are right here. and once they ring everything up, I think you should be free to go. And if they stop you to look at your reciept and the items in your bag, that should only be because they were suspicious or saw you do something. There is almost no point because you just came from the cash register and there cannot be anything in your bag that is extra. Not to mention, with them there all the time, who would try to steal anything? So, its like a waste of money on their part, and a waste of time for us. |
