According to a number of sources and surveys, the absolutely worst customer service in the world is America On Line. |

Virgin are useless. I can't wait to leave them in August and go back to Sky. At least when I was with Sky I could understand what they were saying to me, and they could fix faults there and then. With Virgin you have to wait for someone to come out. |

I've been having problems with Sky too... On the phone to their advisers is just like many other customer services nowadays. I wouldnt mind, but sometimes you have to keep repeating yourself when there is a difficulty understanding each other. |

I believe you could be right, spent hours and hours waiting TO SIGN UP! |

No - Virgin Media cares not one tiny bit about their customers. Avoid them like the plague. |

Orange. Without a doubt. I've had to deal with them twice. On both occasions they have been rude to me. And shouted at me as well.
The second time, it was to get help with our broadband as it wouldn't connect. It had been connected before. He kept telling us to do the same thing over and over again, even though it wasn't working and we'd said we'd already done that. He was talking down to us as well.
Oh and not all Scots are useless betskyuk, I could same about nearly every nationality on the planet. So no need for that. |

I've no experience with Sky but would imagine that BT would take some beating! |

Qwest, I worked for their customer service and they truly do not care what happens to the customers. They would deny legitimate requests for bill changes, get sued, and change so it was now ok to credit for the legitimate issues. |

Cingular - two years ago when I had them, it never took less than 40 minutes to resolve even the smallest issue. |

Without a shadow of a doubt, its British Gas. Truly appalling. Any communication to them is ignored. emails, everything, just ignored, and that is just not on. After they ddnt turn up for an appointment, they LIED and said the engineer couldnt find my house, which is on the main road through my town, with the house number in 12" high letters above the door, and when I wrote to complain vai email, I heard nothing back, Emailed again, nothing, so I changed suppliers. THEN they phoned and asked why! One of their reps went to my Mothers house and got her to switch to them, even though they MUST have known it wasnt a good idea as she was with Powergen, and the special deal for OAPs, but said that there was a cooling off period when she could change her mind. When she tried to do this, she was told it was too late. Then they took £30 from her bank, and it took 9 months and 6 phone calls for her to get it back. ANd the phone staff can be disgustingly rude. I HOPE SOMEONE FROM BG READS THIS!!! You ARE A DISGRACE!! |

Ive always thought it was the American Phone company, Sprint, where you have to speak with a computer, and she keeps misunderstanding what you say and you either have to keep repeating yourself or you end up in the wrong area, and its nearly impossible to speak with a live person. |

I must be really lucky as I have never had any problems with Sky. Noe British Gas are a different kettle of fish, for 11 months now they keep sending me a bill for the prior tenants of my flat and re now threatening to cut me off! Honestly they are doing my head in. |

NTL were the worse i`ve ever come across, followed closely by BT. Sky customer services have always been really helpful - and at least you can understand them! |

I don't know about Sky, but I think that ORANGE has to be awarded the dubious honour of worst customer service EVER. My Internet didn't work for 9 weeks, during which time I phoned every day trying to get the issue resolved and got a different excuse every single time. When I cancelled the service, they tried to charge me one month's service charge for the privilege.
Thanks for the warning about Sky though. We were considering getting a sky box, but we will think twice about it now. |

eBay, for sure!!! You NEVER get a direct answer to your direct question!! All you get is a scripted answer, that 99.9999% of the time has NOTHING to do with your original question!! OR, they send you an answer to someone else's question!!
Runner up is PayPal!!! I've asked them questions and I've gotten responses such as "the email did not come from PayPal..."!!! HUH???? |
