Chris_Knows | What Is the Value of Google? |
Suppose some company wanted to buy Google Inc. Is there any way to find out approximately how much Google is worth? |
|

My guess is a few billion. |

First of all, the price of one share of Google is currently $725 per share, then you would have to figure out the number of shares outstanding, I think. You would then multiply the price per share by shares outstanding and that's the market capitalization, which right now is $226.5 billion dollars. THAT's how much the company is worth right now. |

The current market capitalisation is about $ 225bn. So if you buy all shares to the current share price you have to pay this sum. As in a takeover case it is usual to pay a premium, you probably end up in an even higher sum than that. |

There is absolutely no doubt that Google is priceless, but at the same time we should remember that everything (almost everything) has its own price tag. So to measure its market share and profits would be a start of assessing its value and all we need to do is look at a simple example such as face book, simple compared to Google of course, to realise that when it comes to selling and buying it doesn't take a genius to figure out how valuable an Inc such as Google is worth. |

Be A Social Networker

There is a website out there that will actually give you an estimated net worth for a site if it were to be sold, but unfortunately I cannot put my fingers on it at the moment. With a small fraction of Facebook selling for $1.6 million recently I think it is, my guess is that Google is worth billions if not trillions! |

sure, Google it. "Google stock price" that'd get you near what you want |

Usually to find out how much a company is worth you would look at its stock. The higher the stock, usually the higher the present value of cash flows along with lots of growth potential. Right now google is at a wopping $725.65 a share. They are actually up 14 dollars while everyone else in the market is dropping due to the credit crunch. To find out how much a company would buy them for depends on a lot of things and you would first want to look at how many shares they have issued.
If you are thinking about buying them then let me know cuz I defintely want to get to know you if thats the case! Haha |
