Many will scowl at his philanthropy, saying it is enlightened self-interest. However, you can't deny that he has done a significant amount of good for those in need, as well as make himself a tidy fortune! Good business?!!! |

well, i've always had a little bit of disdain for bill gates. he didn't exactly come up with the idea that brought about windows. he's always used monopolization tactics and then denied them, and any big business person that puts out smaller, competing businesses, which if you don't think he's done, you're just naive, is doing something to hurt the economy. the more people that work for themselves, the more our economy will thrive.
HOWEVER, the bill and melinda gates foundation is the largest charitable organization in the world. actually, i believe that warren buffet is the biggest giver because he's guaranteed that 95 percent of his fortune will go to charity, but that's beside the point.. (warren's money is going to the bill and melinda gates foundation by the way)... the money that will go to charity will be able to do a lot of good if it is put to the right use. i think that they've got a lot of love for creating this and only time will tell how much good will have been done for it.
there are many people who would do nothing after accumulating this much money, so i do like him and think he deserves recognition as being a great philanthropist. |
