Merger is a tool used by companies for the purpose of expanding their operations often aiming at an increase of their long term profitability.
Merging is an effective strategy for participating firms to achieve economies of scale, widen their reach, acquire strategic skills, and gain competitive advantage.

when two or three company in same industry join together to become big. Its will make them to control the industry....
the bigger the company, the more there stable....like big ship hard to sink...it's....
beside...that, more idea and money will make them to produce something new....even that, there also can control the price to the customer...........so ...it not good for consumer......

One company gets all of the patents and intellectual property of another company. The company being bought will have its stock increase in value and those shareholders can become very wealthy. The employess of the smaller company being bought will probably have significantly better benefits.
