Walmart does not allow employees to have a union. They pay among the lowest wages to their staff. They have the lowest rate of benefits. That's one of the ways they keep their prices low, but is it worth it to save money out of the hardship of others? |

I am also a believer in "You get what you pay for"
The furniture is very poor quality, the pillows aren't worth the $10, the clothes are semi-fair, the pots and pans are rickety after a year of use, the silverware is throw-away quality.
I could certainly go on and on. But I still shop there for groceries and toiletries.
GAMES AND ELECTRONICS ARE OVERPRICED... |

well the cheaper the prices the cheaper the quality (most of the time.) I think thats pretty much it. |

some of it's poor quality, and it is supporting wal-mart and the bad things it does... put's out local businesses, unfair business practices... etc. but it doesn't really matter i guess if you need cheep, okay clothes and stuff. |

Not all of the Wal wart stores carry the same clothes.I bought a shirt at one Wal mart and looked for different colors at other wal marts and they didnt even carry the same shirt. |

I think the main disadvantage I can see would be in terms of quality of some items, clothing in particular. If you buy name brands in appliances from Walmart you will usually get better deals, and I have found the service from Walmart to be very good. By buying from Walmart you may also be contributing to the demise of smaller local stores and businesses. |

it would be very cheap..if you dont like cheap then go ...
clothes- mall stores that you see alot of people in..that way you know it isnt cheap
houseware- pottery barn, williams sonoma, or ask a friend whose furniture you like, gets theirs
anything else- name it and ill tell you

Sometimes the quality is poor. I bought a microwave from walmart that was a brand I hadn't heard of or seen in any other stores but it was cheap....it busted 3 months later. |

i guess SOME of the things you buy there look good in the store but once you take it home something always goes wrong with it. either it breaks, doesnt work, or its just a cheap piece of crap. but the clothes i guess are perfectly fine if what they sell is your style. the only thing i would be careful about buying is the appliances. but everything like tvs, game systems, non electric things are all fine . |

They are usually made cheaper and do not last as long. Also, they do not have reputable name brands. But they are usually pretty good for the price. |

I think the main problem with large chains like Wal-Mart is that it puts local places out of business. |

There are none. Most of us live on a budget of some kind. It's nice to see an american company realize we all aren't rich. |
