1. Communication. What does the customer want?
2. Patience. Often times customers don't know what they want.
3. Persistence. Find out what they like to do and relate that to the product you are selling.

Customers are always in 'awe' of the person that doesn't just 'help' them, but takes a personal interest in the customer's needs. You want to "WOW" them. Offer ideas, suggestions. One of the best skills a person can have is the ability to read others by their body language, tone, etc. You can go a long way in making a person feel at ease.

Think of your customer as your boss. You want to impress the boss. :)

well, here is my advice and key skills and I consider it very vaule hope it will help you.

1. and most importantly, like your customer. if you don't like them, then you will show. have the desire to please them. well, it is nothing wrong. take pride of your customer service.

2. remember today you deal with them, someday they deal with you. you're a customer in your life too when you shopping. then treat other what you want other to treat you.

3. be respectful.

4. be as honest as you can be, if you absolutely can not tell the truth, then don't but don't lie.

5. be sincere.

the best way to get earn people's heart is true sincereness and It has work for me like a charm for five or more years ever since I start working.

I like people. I find beauty in everyone.

enjoy it because if you don't love it then you shouldn't be doing it.

never lose your cool. customer might not always be right, but you have no right to lose your cool even in the case of rude and using bad language.

smile.

good lucks
