They have some deals, but
1) in this economy, why would you pay a member fee to shop?
2) just because something is a "good deal," do you need to buy it, or in the case of bulk items, have that much of it?

They give out passes to various groups and businesses. You can look around and see what you think. I went several years ago and wasn't impressed, but it may have changed. Overall, better to buy a few things of good quality that will last (especially if you can help a local business -- sometimes their prices are as good or better!) And if you are in a small apartment with a bf and dog, you probably don't have huge storage capability.

Also, before you buy new furniture you should compare prices at tag sales and consignment shops. You can find really excellent things that won't fall apart for great prices.

you could stock up on things and no have to shop a lot specially as it is just the two of you.Just don't buy perishable that will ruin if you don' use them. They also have good prices on tire, vision, and bath and body products

There is a one time yearly cost of around 40 dollars.Oh and they also sell gas for you car and it can be cheaper than a regular service station

It helps to buy in bulk, but make sure that you get the membership for free from the newspaper or a mailer or try it out. I didn't save much in my opinion (just based on simple math). I did it for diapers and I would have been better off just shopping at Walmart. Honestly, I don't think that it is worth it. Try Costco or something else b4 Sam's.

The fact is that you can generally find better prices with the club cards at your local grocery store if you watch closely for sales. If you don't have a very large family, you will likely not get your money's worth. If you buy large quantities of the electronics equipment, they you probably will. They have great deals on kitchen appliances, surround sound etc.... I wasted my money as we are a family of 4 with no storage space or extra freezers. It really depends on how you plan to use it. I did it for diapers, but found that the special sales every other month at kroger worked out to cost less, I just had to stock up when they were on sale. My advice is to try one of the free 4 day guest memberships first to scope out the prices before you commit your $40!

mikeopal_92
no cons really you can buy stuff in bulk for cheaper and as far as i know i doesn't cost anything to become a member

Ben M
Pros- You can buy in bulk and save on a lot of different items. Also, although they have limited software, they are usually much cheaper than the msrp even on wii/360/ps3 games.
Cons- Membership fee and needing space to keep all of the extra stuff.
