I've experience much horrible customer service in my life. This is how I handle it: I immediately ask to speak to the supervisor or manager on duty. I will tell them my problem. If it does not become resolved , I write a complaint letter stating the date, time and description of the person and what was said and the reaction.
If there is no manager on duty, look at your receipt and call the phone number. Ask when the STORE manager will come to work. Don't leave your number they will not return calls... call the store back when he or she is there to complain.
I would then save this document and mail it to the Better Business Bureau.
If you go to bbb.com you can send an online complaint.
Then I would call back the next day for a followup. Be calm and polite and also tell them that they lost you as a customer.
There is NO excuse for rude customer service. If someone is rude then let the manager know. If they don't care write a letter to the BBB. Write a letter to corporation or district manager (usually on a website there is contact info). Close your account and go sign up elsewhere. A business that treats me horribly will not get another dime from me. Tell all your friends and family how rude the service was there to discourage them from not going.
Fight and stand up for yourself. Do not allow there rudeness to become acceptable.

First of all, tell everyone you know about the rude service. Word of mouth is very powerful!
Also, write a letter to the editor about the store and the bad service you received. It may or may not be published.
After all that also go to the blockbuster corporate website and file a complaint about the service.
Customer service can make or break a company. Most managers and their assistants now days do not come close to grasping the importance of good customer service. |

Life's too short. Why waste your time? Don't sweat the small stuff.
If you can't get over your anger, forget the papers. I'm not trying to be rude, myself, but nobody cares. Call the manager, or regional manager and blow off your steam. |

I always report rude service to corporate and generally get a response. I doubt putting it in the papers is going to accomplish anything.
Instead, try finding out who the regional or district manager is and give them a piece of your mind. You can do this by calling another store and asking for the manager. Unlike the store drones, the district managers will listen.
Don't forget about eopinions.com where you can post your poor experiences. Some companies monitor this site and will make good on a bad experience. |
