OMG! Im chief bridesmaid for my sister, she is getting married next July. We heard on the news yesterday, that the hotel chain Swallow, has gone into Administration. She was having her wedding reception in one of their hotels! It was booked, and her and her fiance paid the required deposit. I was just sitting here thinking about it, when I really started to worry for her. What do you think she she do? Im not sure if she has phoned the hotel today or not, but she was asking me last night for advice! I feel so sorry for her.

Well, first I wouldnt freak too much yet, as you have until next July to find a replacement. If the hotel is in Administration it will have an address of a attorney on the paper that is placed on the front door of the establishment.Your sister may have to sue to get her money back but maybe not if she paid with a credit card they may be able to help. She should contact that attorneys office and make a claim with them for her money but many times the person nevers gets the money even when judgement is made in their favor. Depending on how much money she paid them she might need to hire her own attorney to get her money back. |

I think she should reschedule the wedding and make it a small, family affair only. That way she will be able to recoup whatever cash she's already lost rather than losing more on a stupid, over done, outrageously expensive wedding. |
