What do I do if a sensor scratched me?
I was trying on a pair of jeans inside a store. The jeans had a security sensor inside the front pocket, the point of the sensor scratched my leg while I was pulling up the jeans. I made an incident report with the store Manager. What action should I take with the store? The corporate office called me and left a message.I want to return the call. What should I say and do? Your advice make it a good one. I will call them tomorrow. Thanks.

I'd just tell them the facts. The security tag was attached in such a way as to pose some risk to the customer. While it appeared to be just a scratch, the situation could pose a definite risk. What if this same security tag had scratched someone who had a communicable disease? The second person who got scratched would be at risk of getting the disease from the blood left on whatever was doing the scratching. Hepatitis is a big possibility and it could be some time before you knew you were exposed. This is certainly something worth notifying them about. The people who attach the security tags in this fashion should be trained to do better. If this is how they were trained, the procedure needs to be changed.

You have done the most important thing, made the report.

The only other things you could do is request that they cover medical bills, but since it was only a scratch I doubt you had any.

Corporate probably called you to formally apologize for the accident...they might even offer you some sort of discount or coupon. If you're not satisfied with the company's response to this situation (i.e. managment was rude to you, etc) you can file a complaint with corporate.

These things happen. Its unfortanate that people steal and the sensors have to be there at all, but they are. Just be glad it wasn't more serious.

lol, what are you going to do...sue them over a scratch?? did you incur any medical bills? Loss of wages from missing work due to your injury? or are you going to just sue for pain and suffering? really...come on now.

Get a bloody grip you loser.
You scratched yourself BIG DEAL - BIG BABY.

Thousands of people have died in wars (like Iraq) and attrocities and you want to sue a company because you got a scratch?

I'm sure the people who died in the twin towers attack would gladly be scratched by a sensor rather than have a plane fly into their office.

Think about what your saying, and how utterly selfish you sound.

uh, its depending on how bad the scratch is, and how bored you are... sometimes its really not worth making something out of nothing. **** happens mate... if its that deep to you, tell them what happened and how inconvenient it was and how concerned you are about trying on clothes there again... perhaps you can get a gift card out of it then tell them to be carefull next time. but really i think you are being dramatic...
