The significant cost of R&D has more to do with the cost of prescription drugs than anything else. Advertising, by comparison, is a small portion of a pharmaceutical co's overall budget. |

Probably R&D, plus it takes something like 15 years for a drug to get thru the R&D,trials and FDA approval process.

R&D, They need to find out what people want/need and what the cost is to develop these drugs. Marketing is easy if the R&D have done their job with a product. Look at Viagra. They don't need commercials to make millions off of that one! Products that grow out of great ideas sell themselves! |

I'm not sure, but I do know this statistic to be true......
The largest amount of lobbying dollars spent in Washington is by pharmaceutical companies. Big oil companies are a distant, yes a distant, second place. It's a disgrace. |
