I worked for WM for 10 very long years. The first 2 were absolutely the best. Mr. Walton was still alive. Within 2 weeks of his death the company began a downward spiral and continues that spiral today. They are trying to reach a "Higher class clientele" and are phasing out many of the things people can get there at a reasonable price. But since these items aren't "big sellers" they are taking them away.
I do not shop at Wm and havent for the past 4 years and if I have my way I will never give them another penny of my money.
They also have no consideration for their employees. They try to play that they do but they treat the people that work for them like worthless garbage. |

It says something about a company when a new store opens and 20,000 people apply for the 200 jobs that are created.
From a consmer standpoint, they provide many things to folks who wouldn't be able to afford them at other venues.
The unions HATE Walmart because they can't get in! If unions get in, Walmart would have to raise thier prices in order to pay for the union's demands. |

Cheap crap that people love to buy and my parents go there once a week. |

interesting story and provides jobs for thousands of people. However, the push for low prices has costs and for some, that is part of the human tragedy. |

I feel it's no better than Meijer or Target. I went to Wal Mart and saw a PS3 keyboard for $79.99 then went to Target right after wards and saw the same PS3 keyboard for $69.99. So much for the lowest prices at Wal Mart, right? |

Alot of cheaply made stuff -- some of which is okay, but overall the chain has diminished the quality of retail goods in America. |

I've read Nickel and Dimed - On (Not) Getting By in America by Barbara Ehrenreich. It is an eye-opener. I don't prefer to shop there, and I worry about their infiltration into small cities and large towns. It hurts local business and the price under-cutting hurts local manufacturing. |

Okay they bring you in b/c they sell things for less.
But behind the scenes they are some messed up people.
I watched a documentary about Walmart and boy did it open my eyes!
Crazy things. Like they encourage employees to get on welfare. (Food Stamps & Medical)
Please visit the website.
You'll be amazed! |

As a consumer living on one income with 2 children.... it is the best place around. There is no other place in our area that can beat the prices on a daily basis. When I do shop at another store I cringe at the thought that I am paying so much more for any given item. I generally do my grocery shopping and shop for my kids clothes at WM. I just can not see spending more money for the same thing elsewhere. |

I think Walmart is very resourceful! I mean u get everything there plus for low prices! When u get something from there u get it for a good deal and the company makes a large profit since theres lot of demand! Most ppl can afford it! Good quality and has a good return or exchange policy! Hope this helps! |

I like the Walmart Superstores. I think they have good prices overall, and their quality is as good as Target and better than KMart, in my opinion. The grocery store items are fresh, plentiful and less expensive than the smaller grocery chains, at least in my area. Overall, I like Walmart. |

A large, successful, misunderstood, and targeted company. Negatives are mostly either false or grossly dramatized when researched.
They had some very innovative strategies to give them the competitive advantages they had. I hope to see them progress to continue to pass along savings to the consumers and provide thousands of job opportunities. |

They are making a lot of money for me (I am a Wal-Mart shareholder)
You can join me if you open a brokerage account at Zecco and buy at least one share each week. |

It is too busy but has just about the lowest prices anywhere so I always buy groceries there even if I have to stand in line for awhile. I've heard that they refused to have American flags fly outside their doors & that made real mad but I don't know if the rumor is true. I usually don't buy clothes for myself there but on occasion I will. Overall I'd say that I shop at Wal-Mart about once to twice a week. Has anyone heard about the flag thing? I'd like to know more about it & if it was true I'd never go there again. |
