What do you do when you are screwed by a business?

i left the country in october, and put a hold on a payment till april. the company said no problem. i have now found out that they resumed payments in january. when i called them they said they were only abel to hold it for three months. yet i paid october and they started in january. thats only two. yet they had told me it would be fine to hold payment till april. also they said the one i talked with is no longer with the company. also thy are not allowed to reimburs money. yet this is all their companys fault. now my account is in a negetive because of these unautherized charges.

Unfortunately the better business bureau will not help you. They primarily deal with fraud on a larger scale. They don't really work to resolve one dissatisfied customer's argument.

I suggest (and have had to resort to this myself before) that you contact the company again...and again and again. Don't be rude or angry, but don't be a pushover at all either. When you don't get the issue resolved with one person, simply tell them that you have become convinced that they seem to be doing the best they can within the limits of their authority, and you would prefer to speak with their supervisor. (And don't fall for "someone will get back to you" routine. Let them put you on hold..and DON'T hang up. Also remind them that your time is valuable).Work it the same way with the next person's supervisor. Believe me, THIS WORKS if you stay cool and rational. If you do it right, not only will you get your money refunded, you will get them to pay for your overdraft charges.
