Remember, asking questions makes you look interested and can benefit both you and others in the meeting. If you can't think of a comment, an interesting question would be just as appropriate. |

You can always say "I know that this can be facilitated in a dynamic way that will represent a paradigm shift. When we think outside of the box, we will grow our business cyclically by utilizing the outlying parameters of our staff's skill set."
It will sound like you know what you are talking about, but noone will know what you mean and they'll be too embarassed to ask.
Or you could just jump in with a thoughtful question and follow up. |

sometimes i have the same problem when in meetings when i dont have enough info to speak inteligently about the meeting. the only way you can do that is to know and understand all aspects of what the meeting is about and if your new it will only take time and experience. your doing the right thing by staying quiet if you cant really put forth anything helpful cause you dont want them thinking your ideas arent very good when evenuelly they will be. you can ask questions to understand what somebody is talking about like "so let me get this str8" or whatever, that way you are gaining information and they know you want to be part of the meeting and learn |

No. If you can't contribute then don't try. It will become painfully obvious that you're just wasting everyone's time.
But why is it you don't have anything to add? Are you fully prepared for these meetings? Is it a waste of time for you to be there? In this day and age you have to be productive if you're going to keep your job or advance. |

In order to have something to say in a meeting, you must know in advance the agenda or topics of discussion for the meeting. That way you can have something to say. |

Sit back and think deeply through the issue at hand and if you come up with something new, make sure you say it. If you don't have something new to add, not saying anything is the preferred course. |
