I LOVE IKEA!! It's not what I would buy if I had tons of money, but it has a lot of style for what you put down.
And who couldn't love those lamp commercials? |

IKEA fulfills its purpose very well. It's cheap furniture, with many pieces assembled (yes, you put it together yourself!)
It's not high quality materials, and it's often easily broken. But compared to other cheap furniture, it is also often more stylish and presentable.
We have cheap stuff from IKEA that fell apart after a year or two. But I also have a set of shelves (the cheapest model in that size!), and it's been a little shaky for seven years, and is still the same as the day I put it together, a little shaky. |

They're not as durable as they claim.
After one month you'll start hear the furniture squealing. |

CRAPPY LIKE HECK! I JUST BOUGHT A DESK FROM IT AND IT WAS MISSING A SCREW AND WE HAD TO DRIVE THE 45 MINUTE TRIP BACK TO GET THE DAMN SCREW! THEN THE GLASS DRAWER REFUSED TO COOPERATE IN THE ASSEMBLY! I AM NEVER EVER GONNA BUY FROM IKEA EVER AGAIN GODDAMN IT! |

They are cute, practical but not very durable. But they do have a great exchange policy so kinds makes up for it!! When my drawers broke after 2 years I went back there and exchanged it for new ones!!!
Although, don't bother going there if you're looking for fancy stuff. |

Hi
It depends on the product you are buying. Some is really well made, some is, well, cr*p. It seems the more parts there are, the more likely you are to experience problems. We have a store 800 mtrs down the road so own a fair amount of their stuff. I love their extra's ie plates, accessories and toys. Bookcases can be a tad fiddly to put together.
Having said that, whenever we have had problems they have gone to extreme lengths to ensure the problem is rectified and we are happy. That, I feel says it all. Their after sales service seems (to us anyway) to be really good.
Best thing to do is have a good look online and see what they have available - web address below. |

Great if you want cheap and durable. Not really my thing though. My sis just bought some stuff there, and the quality was pretty basic. Depends what you want really. |

Everything I've got from there has been really good quality. It helps if you put them together properly in the first place. Really well priced and normally very stylish. Just don't fill your whole home with them, it looks tacky! |
