What do you think about this for extortion by Royal Mail. If someone inadvertently?
forgets to put a stamp on a letter or the stamp comes off. Royal mail will deliver that letter to the address it is intended, but they will add on a £1.00 surcharge plus the cost of a second class stamp for the receipient to pay. Yes to the basic charge of the stamp but £1.00 surcharge what a damn cheek. What do you think?

Royal mail are supposed to give us good customer service and at the work face they do and I just think my postie is wonderful. No I am complaining about being ripped off and it is not a question of being miserly , it is a question of implementing fairness into the system and £1.00 + surcharge is not my idea of fairness.

You don't have to accept the mail you know. If they return it to the sender, they have to put a note on it saying 'Undelivered' Hopefully the person sending it to you will realise what they have done and post it properly.

If it were the recipients responsibility to pay for incorrectly posted items, you could technically bust someone by posting hundreds of letters to a company without a stamp on! This is why you can turn them away.

I think the surcharge is excessive. It doesn't cost any more to deliver the darned thing and no-one knows where we stand with the new charges!

It should be LEGAL to SEE the offending item so that you can decide if you want to pay for it or not. We should not have to pay for the receipt of Junk Mail when it has been proven that the Royal Mail benefits from the scams contained therein.

If somebody forgets to put a stamp on then they are stupid and you deserve to pay extra. Take it up with the sender, not the post office-they are a business, not a charity.
Also, I have never, ever known a stamp to fall off.
A pound is nothing these days. Stop being such a miser.

i hate people who moan about postal prices. It cost me 1.50 to send a cd to australia - BARGAIN

I think that royal mail should put their middle fingers up, and say to people who complain -'take it youre bloody self'

see whos moaning than.

I had to pay to get my mail because of this and it turned out to be junk mail!!! so now it's even cheaper for them to send out rubbish and who wins the Royal Mail.
