What do you think about wal-mart vs. target?
hey,
i have always been disgusted by the concept of wal-mart but buy personal items/hygiene items frequently at target. my friend recently told me that target and wal-mart are basically the same but i still feel under the impression that wal-mart is a store for white trash and target is just a store for things to be cheap in. what do you think?
Wal-Mart is actually cheaper than Target. But like you said, Wal-Mart's customers are WAYYYY different than Target customers. Wal-Mart customers are the single mothers, ghetto people. It feels like I'm walking in a swapmeet.
Target has a more clean environment, and their customer base is the exact opposite of Wal-Mart. Plus, Target is more spacious than Wal-Mart (not comparing the Super Targets and Super Wal-Mart).
Call me racist or prejudice, but I gurantee I'm not the only person that'll see this.

I'm banned from both wal-mart and target in my town.
I choose Meijer.
It also has food.
I can go there at night, get a 10 dollar dvd, gummy bears, ramen, and a slushy, and my night is perfect.
Plus the stores are always clean and nice and open 24/7

Wal-Mart employs 1.7 Million people. That is far more than any other company in the entire world. They both sell mostly imported things from China and other Asian countries. Wal-Mart sells the same things for less than Target. I don't know how Target stays in business if there is a Wal-Mart around. No Target I go into (out of curiosity) ever seems to have anyone in it buying anything. When I look at things in both, Wal-Mart has everything Target has plus a lot more things, and the prices are lower.

Both are great for shopping,but not to work there.
They are hiring part-time to reduce wages and benefits. Be aware of how the corporate cultures of wal mart and target with how they implement their promises of a good career. Both have a high turn over rate.

They both sell the same brands...so I don't know why you would think that they are racist and sell stuff for "white trash."
