Exxon Mobil.
A companies market capitlization is one indicator of this,--not of influence, but of size and profit. Their market capitalization (the value of all outstanding stocks) is 469.15B Microsoft is around half of that.
And until we get more alternative fuels used on an every day basis in transportation and electricity generation, the oil companies will have a lot of influence and control.
