I very much dislike them.
The ones on the phone always ring you at the most inappropriate times, (not that any time is good).
Say for example, you've been working hard all day on a 12-hour shift and you've just come home and you are settling down to a meal with your family. The last thing you need is some stranger insisting that you need insurance for your whatever.
Being British, I always hear what they have to say first before making a decision, (which is always no anyway), but then they keep on and on but then I lose my temper.
Then theres the ones that hang around in town and pretend to be your best friend.
Years ago, they used to sit on a little stool by shop entrances with a pot to put your spare change in, or they used to walk up to you and ask you nicely.
Now, they just obstuct your path.
They really p iss me off. |

I have yet to meet a salesperson I respect.
In every case that I can remember, the salesperson seemed far more interested in making the sale and commission than they actually were in solving a problem.
Sometimes they were pushy - going for the close too quick is an immediate invitation to get kicked out - and sometimes they were just too nice, too obsequious and slimy.
But in every single case, it was clear that they didn't have my best interests at heart. |
