Your CV should be a reflection of you so do not put anything that you cannot prove or do. Whatever you state, you should be able to put it to the test, e.g. if you say you can design a web page, you should have the capability to do so.
As regards impressing a prospective employer, the only way i know is to make yourself marketable by becoming as qualified as you can for the job(s) you are interested in seeking, and you can do this by gaining as much knowledge in the respective field as well as related areas (if the additional information will help).
Stating that you are a "teamplayer" or "your interpersonal skills are great" can GET you job but when you are put to the test, if you are found wanting, it will not let you KEEP the job (note the difference) |

You should stick to the truth, I know people who have put in their hobbies and interests that they read, at the interview, they got asked who was their favourite author and what was their favourite book. They didn't have a clue. You need to mention things like qualifications/education, job experience, hobbies and interests as well as the obvious like your name, date of birth, address. Good luck, I hope you find something soon. |

ps. always write the truth, lies generally are found out, it's not worth it. Integrity it your biggest asset, that's what a good employer is looking for. |

Dear Clown, you should keep you CV to one page, it is fact that is a CV is to long it get put in the bin, Head the CV the of the Job you are applying for. Write about your education, work experience, Jobs you have had, your abilities your hobbies, and 3 references, not for getting a picture of yourself. Keep it simple and readable, you can also add a hand written letter of motivation as to why you would like the job you are applying for |

e-mail me if u like and i will tell u what u need to write. just changed my cv a few weeks back and sent off 10 for different jobs and had interviews with 8 off them and was offered 3. so it's all about a good cv. i did send off a few off my old cv over the past year or so without any success. so i speak from experience. |
