After a while I noticed that no price at wal-mart ends in the number 9. I find it to be very strange and cult-like. Has anyone else noticed this or know the answer (obviously a price that ends in 9 ...
At our Wal-Mart the greeter does nothing---I mean not even a hello (depending who's on duty) Before they used to greet you, grab you a cart and clean off the carts when they were wet. Now all they do is throw some towels out and you can clean it yourself if you want . Has anyone else noticed how they've gone down hill? Or am I just the only one that doesn't enjoy untangling carts? Additional Details whoa ok you do realize that I wasn't serious? I didn't need to biography of wal-mart greeters. Just an observation. No lectures are needed on minium wage and p.s. the ones in our city get piad $10-$12 an hour I have a college degree and hardly make that.

At our Walmarts the greeters have never done anything to do with the carts. There are people who do that. The greeters hand out the Walmart flyers to people walking in and that's pretty much all ours do.

Ha! You are completely right. I dont think Walmart greeters do a thing! They get paid for doing nothing. All they do is sit back and watch people. What a life.

mmm yeah ive noticed that they just stand there at the door.
its not cool.

Who cares? Walmart pays them below minimum wage, (because walmart is the devil), and their retired most of the time. Paying them $500 a month out of walmart's vast billions can be like their civil service.

I shop often at Wal-Mart and have never been offered a cart by the greeter at the door. They only present a forced smile and ask if I am returning something. I personally do not like the Wal-Mart greet at the door policy. The greeter basically does nothing except stand by the door and say hello to customers when they enter. Sometimes they do not even do that. Their job is to hand carts to customers as they enter in the store, handle basic inquiries and guide customers to the right department instead of handling returns. I have never seen them hand carts to customers. Their primary purpose seems to be shoplifting prevention. The impression I have is that Wal-Mart wants to be perceived as having exceptional customer service by posting greeters at the door but the real purpose of the greeter is security.
