They want to know why you want the job, what you hope to accomplish, and what your goals are...
ie "To obtain employment in a position that will benefit from my current skills and abilities, while at the same time providing me with the opportunity to learn and gain further experience" |

It means exactly what it says. What are you trying to achieve? employment in a particualr industry? Type of job? I don't think employment is going to work too well for you. |

Mean? If you are asking what an employment objective is on a job resume, it's your objective, your goal. You can find tons of examples of applications & resumes on the internet that can give you ideas for your objective. Good luck, remember to spell check :) |

If you are referring to a common piece of a job resume, it simply means what you would like to gain from a job or career.
If you are just starting out, you might say something like: "I am seeking a position that will allow me to gain experience in the field of XXX (whatever field you are interested in)." This tells the person reviewing your resume that you are willing to start low and learn on the job and that you are hoping to advance over time.
If you are experienced in a particular career field, you might say: " I am seeking a position that offers a chance to expand my diverse and successful experience in the field of XXX." Or, you might say something like this: "I am seeking a management opportunity in the field of XXX."
Although the statement is often just fluff, it is used by resume readers to help determine who gets interviewed. So you should tailor the statement to the job you are applying for at the time. Don't say you want a management job if the job you are applying for is entry level. That will get your resume tossed.
And don't use totally generic statements, like: "I want a good job with a good company." It's a waste of time. |
