I'm sorry to say that the previous four answers that you got are off on the term "Mission".
"Mission" for a company is a long term, cherished philosophy. It could be "Inspiring minds", as Wipro has decided. This is a broad, soaring, solemn promise the company owner makes - devoid of complacence, no winking at oneself. The owner works the way to achieve his mission, adding issues at every step of growth. The "Mission" remains unchanged.
Vision, on the other hand is a mid-term, practical thinking. It his how the people in the company visualises it a few years from the present. It is based on the Mission at the outset and then mid-term business objectives, the intellectual wealth the company wishes to build and how it would prefer itself to be judged by society. After a few years the "Vision" would change, continuing to agree with the 'Mission' of course.
Without a vision no company can progress steadily and without a Mission it can't survive in future. |

The mission is all the activity currently being undertaken by the company. |

Both are one and the same.To emphasize the statement , these words are combinedly used.
Vision is like - We want to make our company a 1000 crore organization is Vision.
Mission is referred for religious related targets.
Tasks to acheive the vision is called like milestones, plan etc. |
