I'm a cart-pusher, myself, actually. I started some time ago. Uh, frankly, you should really go to Home Office about that because that's absolute nonsense. Those new metal carts that walmart has out there in the parking lot are hella heavy!! Carry-outs are a pain, yes, I know, especially around the end of your shift.. it's true, I believe you. Our store has only one motorized cart-machine and it's old as ****. We had to beg for a new battery and wheels before it became even half-decent. I believe that we should have two for a 24-hour super center, but I don't see it happening because frankly, I agree that on some level management doesn't give a **** about you or me, or any one else they have to push carts. That's inhumane!!!
They tend to give you bullshit at every given turn, even if you bust your *** for them--this applies to both customers and management--they still punish you for something you never even did or treat you like you're not smart or that you're not up to snuff, but not many of them even know what its like to push a ****ing cart for more than twenty or thirty minutes, steadily filling it up with useless crap that they don't need.
More rules and less respect...
They're probably not paying your for your hard labor, in my opinion, they should be paying you as much as they are paying other positions inside or around the store. But I guess that's just me anyway. Other positions that involve the sales floor, the associates pretty much just listen to people ask them questions or shrug their shoulders about stuff they're supposed to know but don't know because they never paid attention to what they're doing or where they are because they're thinking at the given moment. I don't really know what goes on in managements heads when they pay these guys more than people who are destroying their arms and legs to give customers an opportunity to pick up a ****ing cart and buy something so that everyone makes money!!
IN SHORT IT'S @$$ BACKWARDS!!! That's what I think of wal-marts low wages.
If this is what you need to finance things... hold on for a little while longer. If not, don't stay if you don't have to. |
