What does "like for like" mean?

Kate
It means reciprocity, or giving and taking in equal measure. Or it can also mean an equal action creates an equal action in return.

Hope this helps. Cheers, K

cbjr
If it is pertaining to system conversions, it menas that the new system offers the same functionality as the old.

slurpeeman86
I've usually only seen it in the context of deals, essentially meaning it's fair (i.e. the "like" referrs to the value).

If you are referring to an exchange, it means bartering for similar products. I.E. oil futures for corn futures or automobile for automobile.

It's an easy way to avoid tax and complications while disposing assets that are no longer wanted.
