My husband came home this week with a small stud to put in his collar (Whooppee) form his firm - a well known timber and builders merchants in the UK. Though he does get 3 days more holiday per year than the stautory minmum I actually think this is quite an insult; he could get gold stars working in McDOnald's for a couple of weeks. To add insult to injury he has actually worked there for about 23 years and while other people who are coming up to 20 years can get a gift worth about £100 because he (and others) had already passed the 20 year mark when this scheme was brought in he cannot get it. So what did you get from your firm?
