What happens if the company that I have ordered a bed off go into receivership?
I paid a two hundered and fifty pounds deposit on a bed two weeks ago. The local paper reported on Saturday that this company has shut its doors and that it is likely to go into receivership provided bankers approve. I paid a deposit using my ordinary bank card. Will I get my money back ( Nat West Advantage Account) not a credit card
Your best chance of getting anything back is that if the bed you ordered happens to be in stock, then you may receive the bed, as the administrators have to satisfy as many orders as they can from existing stock. If this doesn't happen your chances of getting back more than a few pennies in the pound is virtually nil, I'm afraid - you'll be WAY down the creditors list.

That's awful. I don't think you will. Hope I'm wrong.

complain to trading standards now and you might have a chance of getting your money back if you are quick. Let them know - you need someone on your case.

This happens a lot.
SO in future learn from your mistake and pay by CREDIT CARD.....cause that way you get the money back fro the Credit card company
Pooh Face
If you paid on a credit card then you would, but I'm not sure about the advantage card. I think that the best thing to do is to call your bank and find out where you stand.
Good Luck!!

I would suggest you endeavour to bring a case against the directors to demonstrate that they were running a company in the full knowledge that it was essentially insolvent. you might not get your money back, but you'll get them banned from directorship.

It's a shame that you used a normal bank card and not a credit card. Unfortunately when a company goes bust people like the tax man are the first to get any money back if there is any. The poor old customer is last in line. If you had paid by credit card you could probably have claimed the money back. As it is I think it is unlikely that you will get anything back. Sorry.
