What has been your experience with Wells Fargo Bank?
They have been pretty helpful, and here in California they have more ATMs than anybody else. However, as I travel a lot and need good ATM coverage outside of California, I went with Washington Mutual.
Wells Fargo would have a larger product base, like if you need foreign checks cashed or travelers checks sold, which are some of the things smaller banks won't do for you.

Very cut throat business. Nothing is personal. And you mess up there is somebody waiting to take your place, but while your there no one talks about it. Its kinda of like fight club.

Unfortunately, Wells Fargo Bank is not Wells Fargo Bank. They were purchased a few years ago by a Bank called Norwest(?) out of the midwest. Norwest decided to keep the Wells Fargo name because it was so well known. I believe since that time they have nothing but to rundown the reputation and name of Wells Fargo Bank. They believe that "money" is the root of all "success." Scrooge could take real lessons from them. There is no customer service: the customer is wrong not matter what.
Unfortunaely, many of their employees have become embittered and pass those feelings onto the customers.
Whoever said bigger is better, has not met Wells Fargo/Norwest Bank.

Not very friendly or helpful in my opinion. That is what you get with a big business! My local bank is much more friendly. They have more features and such but I will not tolerate someone being rude to me while I am giving them my business. I'll pay the 5.95/month for the stupid account!

Pretty good outfit. Not anywhere as good as the likes of USAA, but then who is................. They're better than alot of banks, though.
