It really depends on who the person is. If they are someone that you may want to do business with in the future you will need to make sure you don't burn those bridges. If it is someone who you believe your boss will never need anything from and will never need to work with, then you politely tell them that you are sorry, but your boss does not have any openings in his schedule but YOU will call THEM when there is an opening...if they ask how long you think it will take for them to get an appointment tell them it could be months...they should get the hint. If they persist then you need to be honest and tell them they he will not be meeting with them.

well i do something like that, and i m a vp of the company as well. Well first of all you need to get the email of what they would like to speak to the boss. Once you get the email, just conveny the message in the email to your boss and then your boss can take it from there.
