coca cola is a very sweet carbonated (fizzy) drink, it is the worlds most famous and valuable brand because its been around for a long time and is sold worldwide as a food product that reaches every market whilst other products such as Microsoft are expensive and limited to rich markets that can afford computers etc. you could probably buy a coke in the Serengeti but not get Internet access. |

Mahmood,
Coca Cola is determined to be the most valuable brand based on the difference between their costs and profits - essentially the cost of capital. Coke earns such a substantial amount of profit based on what is invested, that this excess return is attributed to the "brand". Coke's results are the best in the world in this regard and thus the world's most valuable brand.
Hope that helps,

Coca-Cola is the world's most valuable brand for many years in a row because of its 121-year history as a pioneer in advertising and marketing. Coca-Cola was the first company to introduce the concept of coupons in the 1890s, the first company to trademark its packaging - the most recognized beverage bottle - the contour-shaped bottle, one of the first companies to use radio, television and other media to mass-market its beverage. The Coca-Cola name in Spencerian script and its translated names in 60+ languages all follow the same style and color worldwide. The Coca-Cola Company commissioned many artists including Haddon Sunblom to create the memorable Santa Claus that we know today since 1933. The animated polar bears from 1993. The television commercials: I'd Like to Buy the World a Coke and the Mean Joe Greene are so memorable for the baby-boomer generation. "Delicious and Refreshing", "Have a Coke and a Smile", "Can't Beat the Feeling", "Always Coca-Cola" and all the taglines over the years all contribute to this branding and marketing of Coca-Cola. Additionally, the Coca-Cola Company has had many visionary leaders including Asa Candler, Robert W Woodruff and Roberto Goizueta. Today, Coca-Cola is sold in over 200 countries at a rate of 1.3 billion servings a day is just phenomenal. |
