What is it with my company .......?

i alwaysgets over looked at work i do everything train new people help out with one off tasks - yet this one guy who doesn't do much work passes the hard stuff onto other people - got paid a bonus - it is a rarety in out place that nayone gets a bonus yet he did - is it worth speaking to my manager and asking why he got one or putting my head down and getting on with things till i find something else. this isnt the only occasion where thigs liek this have happend it so disheartening.

== he's plainly 'Management' material :-)

OK, to be serious .. it's NOT about how hard you work == it's about how EFFECTIVE you are in the eyes of the management .. this means pushing work you can't handle to others (who can) .. thus completing your tasks faster (and having spare time to b*llshit the management).

Whist you are struggling to get through the difficult stuff he's sailing ahead wit the (easy) stuff ... but all 'Der Management' can see is that he's sailing ahead and you are struggling ...

You need to spend more time 'liaising' with other people (and getting them to help you do your work) and less time with your head down getting on with it ...

It's the same everywhere = hard workers are seen as workers who find it hard to work ..

If i was unhappy with my job i would just look for another one that is better and make sure that it doesnt just seem better either.

I feel that if im in a job and that i have to stand up and make noise to get fair recognition or a fair pay rate that the company inst worth staying at, i think i would end up having to do it every single time, i shouldnt have to.

Speak to your manager. But stay calm and before you have your talk, write down everything you want to say and keep it unemotional and stick to the facts.
Avoid saying things like "I feel..." instead say, "I've noticed" or "This has come to my attention" if you get even slightly emotional you will lose as they'll have you down for a whining girl.
Say that it is disheartening to be passed over and for your hard work to go unrewarded....if they fob you off then consider taking your complaints higher...it sounds like discrimination to me.
