Even worse conditions outside sweatshops.

For people working in sweatshops, it is better to work there than not. The problem is not a [Chinese / Vietnamese / Indian etc] sweatshop, but rather that the entire economies of these countries are based on near-subsistence wages. Therefore, if the standard rate of pay in the country is just $3 per week, a new factory will be able to employ a workforce by paying its workers anything more than $3 per week (say $3.10).

Everyone. When you buy a pair of shoes at Walmart just because they are a dollar cheaper than some other store, you are supporting sweatshop labor.
