What is the difference between a supervisor and a manager?
Generally speaking, most supervisors are hourly workers, and lower on the pole than managers, who are usually salary paid.

The key role of both is to lead, so really no difference, unless in the same place there are supervisor and manager, then i guess supervisor's role is to guide and work with you while the manager 's role is to oversee the entire team

Big Business
Supervisor - Manages the hourly people in their area.
Manager - Manages the Supervisors in his area.
Small Business.. & Fast Food.
Supervisor - Glorified hourly. Responsible for the hourly and doing their jobs when they fall behind or don't show up for work.
Manager - Manages the supervisor and the hourly employees. Could have multiple stores to manage.

A supervisor works directly with the employee and a manager oversee the operation more of a admin person
generalteh
supervisor is the person incharge at that time. like in Gamestop's ladder a supervisor could be a Senior Game Advisor or Assistant Manager. the Supervisor can tell you what to do or handle any situations that are minor and need solving then and there while a manager makes the decisions like scheduling(not all jobs), pay raises, solving bigger problems.
