Media mail shipping has restrictions. It has to be media (i.e. books, DVDs, tapes) that contain no advertising. Anything can go first class, but only qualifying items can go media mail. First class mail is quick. Medial mail is slower, but cheaper once the item weighs more than about 8 oz. Second class mail is how you would mail things such as magazines.

In the past 10 years, I've had a number of packages get lost. Some surfaced 3 weeks later, some never did.
With one exception, these were ALL sent media mail.
