I know in our company, they think that leader sounds better! They feel that by saying team leader, it will somehow take away the negative connotations that manager tends to imply! Doesn't really matter, if you're a bad manager, changing the position title doesn't effect how your team feels about you! |

Managers help to implement, and later, oversee, the ideas that leaders have created. Most managers have little true creative ability, and are more bureaucratic than inspired or empathetic, which is why so many politicians are former managers or management-types.
