What is the ebst way to start a Boycot of Inbev products now that they purchased Anheuser-Busch?
I want to get the word out to all ex-military, retirees of the military and those service on Active Duty asking them to immediately boycott Anheuser-Busch products now that the company is being purchase by an overseas company know as InBev?

I want to make sure that a public outsry is heard around the world as another US Icon, Anheuser-Busch beer has been taken over and will no longer be an American beer.
Additional Details
Because I am a retiree of the US Army and the US Military and Department of Defense Civilians are the world's largest beer drinkers (except for German's) why not use them to help in this battle?

The remarks about the parks was good, I had forgotten them.

I wonder if the new InBev company will bother with SuperBowl commericla? There goes the frogs I guess huh?

Capitalism is as American as it gets and this move is proof that the U.S. way of life has spread around the globe. Bud was for sale as soon as the company went public. Don't blame anyone other than the Busch family who sold the company years ago. By no longer drinking bud as a result of the buyout you are actually not supporting a basic tenet of American life. You could drink Miller but it's owned SAB (another foreign company) or Coors which is owned by Molson in Canada. Maybe you should home brew, that's as local as it gets.

They were already thinking of unloading the parks and moving management of them to Florida. The Busch family netted hundreds of millions on the deal to go with the rest of the fortune they made when it went public. Not like they cant afford to still be charitable. It is usually the distributors that donate to local events so that shouldn't change. Inbev may trim the fat (a good thing) but it would be crazy for them to brew the brand elsewhere and ship it to the U.S. especially with all the breweries in place here already so those jobs should stay here. The marketing dollars may not.

Thanks for serving our country. We may disagree about the boycot but I am thankful for the sacrifices you have made.

The beer is still going to be made in America. It's still going to taste like old Bud Light. However, if this upsets you, switch to Miller Lite.

Keep in mind that with the dollar being down so much, American companies are at a bargain purchase price right now or foreign companies. You may want to get use to this for the next few years.

I love the idea of supporting American owned companies and I hate the fact that they have sold out. Boycotting the products will only hurt the American people that still work for Anheuser. By boycotting their products for an extended amount of time...you would force them to cut costs further to keep the business moving forward. Inbev is already going to cut anything that they can...eventually cutting jobs which will only further help to stifle the economy for all of us. I know it sucks...but support your fellow americans and keep buying the product...without your support the rest of us could lose OUR livelyhood.

I think it's a good think for americans. Belgians are our ancestry (they were the first to colonise Manhattan) and this company began to make beer before the existence of USA.

American beers are just commercials, Belgian beers are made with wisdom.

Then, it's stupid to boycot a company because they buy an american company. Americans buy even more foreign company in the world and that's the americans who begin to play this game.

Playing capitalism is playing boomerang.

Looks like Warren Buffet is going to make out like a bandit, yet again.

I live in St. Louis. I own AB stock (stock market symbol "BUD"). I'm VERY disappointed in the A-B board's decision to accept the offer to be bought out by foreign interests. I know it's not the fault of the workers at the brewery, but, I will probably simply start to switch to other local/American beers, myself, personally.
Oh, and I will likely sell my stock. It just doesn't 'do it for me' anymore.

First, I love beer.
Second, What does the American military have to do with Mergers and Acquisitions? ....asides from oil related business.
Third, American lagers are not really worth fighting over, there are far better causes to contact ex-military and service members about. Here's a party trick to propose to your military buddies, ask one to buy 10 'American Lagers' and have a blind taste test. No options or multiple choice. I bet you only get 1 right and that would be if you picked the same beer 10 times and happened to guess one that he bought.
Forth, anger at Budweiser does absolutely nothing. Budweiser still exists, the Busch Boys will be on the new board, they will still make sweet commercials and sell the exact same beer. If you liked them for their beer it is still the same. If you liked them because the owners are American then you still have plenty or American options which brings up my last and ownly real point.
Lastly, Imbev will bring something valuable to America's beer lovers. Choice. Through their own company or through new or expanding breweries capitalizing on 'backlash' against Budweiser, new beers are on the way. Hopefully another American great will arise from the ashes of a once fabled beer industry.

PS - Sailor, good job on supporting the small breweries. I think a lot of people, including myself, are going to enjoy the new options. And no 'jabs at the military' intended in any way. I was simply curious why military people are the only people referenced in the initial question regarding Imbev and Bud? The party trick was not meant to be insulting either, it actually is a fun event to conduct. I highly recommend it...And I guess my 'jab' question still stands; What does the military have to do with acquisitions?

I agree with all that's been said. Except about switching to Miller. All Miller beers are brewed by SABMiller, which is an English-South African brewer. There are technically no large American brewers left. If you're from St. Louis, switch to Schlafly. If elsewhere, Sam Adams or a good old California wine.

hockeyfan530
I'm switching to Schlafly. I hate what the buyout is going to do the St Louis area.

John F
Why don't you switch to Miller?

Oh, yeah. That's owned by South Africans. And they're soon to come after Coors ;-)

I will indeed boycott the use of AB products and encourage others to do the same. AB has been an American Icon and employs thousands of Americans. AB is (or was) and American Beer... InBev will change that.

It's time we (consumers without large stock holdings) exercise our power and raise our voices. I will not purchase AB products if they are a subisidary of InBev.

Perhaps if we all work together to boycott AB in the next few weeks/months, the value of the company will not be as attractive to InBev (knowing patriotic American consumers will not purchase InBev products) and InBev will back out.

I will be purchasing our beer (and other items) from American owned/operated companies only.

If we don't stand up for America, who will?

Keep the military jabs to yourself, knight. You can make your point without insulting us, no matter what your politics are.

As for me, I wont be buying Anheuser-Busch products for personal reasons. I don't hold it against anyone if they do, I just choose to support small, local breweries. Besides, it is fun to try the local beer when traveling.

As patriotic as that sounds, it just isn't going to happen. The impact from this takeover though is going to be felt a lot further than just the beer not being American. A-B does more for people in this country through charitable donations and foundations than you and i can imagine. Also, one must remember that they own all the SeaWorld parks, Aquatica, Discovery Cove and so much more. I'm sure InBev has no interest in these and will unload and who knows what will happen to these great parks. But unfortunetly boycotting it isn't going to make it different. What you need to do is be angry at the greedy shareholders...
