What is the recruimint and selection policy of any company in UK?

Each Company is likely to have their own recruitment and selection policy, whether it is written down or not, and is likely to depend on the industry of the organisation as well as the strategic direction of the organisation.

But generally will consist of an Equal Opportunities policy and objective methods of selection i.e. job offers on merit alone.

10 Poiunt plan of recruitment

1) Draw a definition of what position is being required
2) Decide what kind of person you want to fill the position
3) Advertise a vacant position
4) Receive applications for said position
5) Compare applications against required Criteria.
If a definite fit, Progress to interview,
If a near miss, put in for further consideration
If very much out of the definition, reject
6) Perform final review of close matches in contrast to perfects
7) Invite possibles for interview
8) Check candidate against criteria
9) Decide on candidate who:
Clearly demonstrated the interest in the job
Displayed great potential of ability to do the job
Fitted in with the image of the rest of the company
Is likely to remain employed for a longer period than most
10) Hire the best and eject the rest

Hello,

To be honest with you thats such a wide open and unspecific question its almost impossible to answer.

**Some general points though, the recruitment and selection policy of a company will depend upon :-

a) the sheer company size (does the company have just 3 staff or 3,000 staff already).

b) the nature of the companies business ie. the product or service they produce. This will especially define what kind of staff are required.

c) what department the staff are required for

d) What specific skills, talents, or knowledge does the company require.

e) are staff going to be recruited for a permanent job or just on a short term contact, or temporary staff.

f) Is the work seasonal i.e. quiet periods or busy peak times, or is the work a steady flow through out the year.

**Even within the same company there can exsist a number of different recruitment policies or standards according to the senior manager/s (or the person doing the recruiting).

**If your question was more precisely stated I could have given you a better quality answer but based on what you've asked this is the best I can say.
