I am an employee and hate the fact that the majority of the products are made in China.The quality is very poor and they pay the employees in China .40 an hour.They should be making products in the US, creating jobs. They pay us a very poor salary and we pay for our benefits.The "rollbacks" are a trick for the consumer.I am currently looking for another job.Also if the consumer knew how dirty the store really was, they would not shop there. There is no excuse for it being dirty. |

As a shopper, the stores are filthy more often than not, and the customer service is hideous.
As a former employee, Wal-Mart is sneaky, underhanded, and doesn't care how many toes it steps on to get what it wants, including turning employees against each other. |

Was an employee and they are shady, greedy, and down right corrupt.
As a customer, they offer a lot at lower prices but is not worth knocking out all of the "mom & pop" stores that give a town its character and give business owners a chance.
Both as a former employee and customer I can't stand that store. |

Their prices are low - but many of their products are not of good quality - and their service is not very good. There is a marketing strategy that speaks of price, quality and service. In order to make money - you have to offer two of the three to customers. Or - two thirds of all three. Wal-Mart has very good prices - but their product quality and service are lacking. That's how they make their money.
If you go to a super Wal-Mart - there are good deals on food - and the quality is not bad.
I don't enjoy shopping there. Parking is usually a hassle. The clientele is very often from the lower socio-economic class - which means people are very often shopping with children - and very often the children are sick (runny noses) and/or not very clean.
Walking into a store and smelling McDonald's food is not what I want out of a shopping experience - but that's the case in the Wal-Mart closest to me.
Although it's not a pleasant experience - I have shopped there to get some good deals. Usually only a couple of times a year. |

When the SuperWalmart first opened in our area, people flocked. All the check out stands were open and nobody stood in line more than 5 minutes. It's a totally different story now. From what I have observed, KMART responds better to the clothing styles for women. I'm not that happy with them. I know a few employees and they complain like mad...they complain about the hours and how they are treated. I like KMART - they have started up the Layaway program again. But that's just my opinion. |

I shop at Wal-Mart all the time, but the one thing that makes me mad is I buy something week after week and know the price because I get it all the time. Then one week I will go in there and they will have on of those "roll back" tags on it saying was this now this. The price on the roll back tag is the normal price it has always been. They act like they are saving you money when they really haven't changed anything. I see this a lot because that is the store I shop at the most. |

About a year ago, I had hardly ever entered into Walmart.I always shopped at Target. Mainly because the nearest Walmart was about 45 mins away. Finally we got another Walmart closer to home. It created a lot of jobs and a great place to get what you need at ANYTIME of the day or night (ours is open 24 hours). And no one can beat the prices. Saves time and money for me. I can get everything in one place and for a good price. |
