Eric, RI | What kind of companies are most likely to have more intangible assets than tangible assets? |

Any kind of "Information" Company.
I would think, financial institutions, software companies, higher education (depending on how you look at it) and like some one said - companies that invest heavily into R&D - like pharmaceuticals, computer 'innovation' companies (as opposed to ones that create the same thing over and over), and other 'innovative' companies. |

Well, a company that tends to have fewer tangible assets would an internet based business. Their income is from advertising, and their main expenses to their website hosting service, then they really won't need much tangible assets.
A company with high tangible assets would be say, a retailer, outlet, etc. |

Primarily Software companies & Biotech companies.
Also companies which have made significant acquisitions tend to have a lot of goodwill on their balance sheets; which is also a type of intangible asset. |
