What legal options can be taken when a plant manager threatens your job just because you spoke up and disagree
Just because I stated he was making too many chnages to the plant (as he has only been there less than a month), he said "do you want to remain in this plant" as a threatening statement.

A threat is a form of intimidation, in retaliation for a prior complaint. The US Labor Board is who you want to file a formal complaint with. However, be careful because your boss is sure to try and catch you doing anything he can fire you from. Be sure to document EVERYTHING, date, time, place, names, etc. The Board will be glad to took the time to document everything. Then if the termination does happen, you can get them for more retaliation for past complaints. Some companies when the big boss learns of a lower supervisor threating the employees, its the supervisor who gets fired first. And once they learn you have documented things so well, they usually will not bother you again for fear of a bigger law suit for retaliation or sexual harrassment. Check out the information on the US Dept of Labor web site, via www.first.gov/

most states are at will jobs so they can fire yoou for anything... It sucks but nothing you can do about it.

no legall recourse can be taken. Keep your mouth shut, or he probably will fire you. Which he can do when ever he feels like it.

Time to pucker up you have no legal options. However, you may have some later on if he keeps it up. Sexual harassment laws are being changed to add intimidation. You better keep a log of all the statements he makes and the dates

Not enough information. Union or non-union? If union go to your union rep. If non union be careful what you say. These day's we don't have many rights left to speak our mind. Probably could get you on insubordination. He's not much of a boss. Everyone should be able to express their opinion.

Remember sometime new commers come with big EGOS and they end up crashing hard give it time, but if not most large company has a human resource manual (employee manual) read it. Yes you are working there with your own free will and yes they can let you go,( but you can disagree) but they too have too follow rules set by the labor board if non-union. I would document what the manager said, time date, but beware of your own conduct as well. Anyways make a copy and if you have too send one to your human resource and maybe they can resolve the issue before it gets out of control. If you are able to transfer to another dept. then to so before you get black ball. Some company even has a 1-800 snitch anonymously. And you can report your manager and they will look into it. Don't be afaid of changes, changes can be good.

Working can be a difficult change from school or home life. For one thing a business is a dictatorship not a democracy. And the first rule of business is "the boss is always right". Now there are lines that cannot be crossed but you are no where near that area with what you have described.

The bosses job is to see that the "bottom line" is profittable. If he believes that many changes are required to do that. Then his job is to make those changes and your job is to follow his directions. That's going to be true no matter where you work.

Sorry if this sounds rough, but this is how it works in business.
