A great leader is someone who can take the vision of the company, turn it into specific goals and objectives, and motivate his/her team to meet or exceed those objectives. A good leader is humble, develops trust with each person on the team, coaches and mentors team members for continual improvement, LISTENS, and is able to "manage up" within the company (able to show and highlight the achievements and strengths of the team to upper management or to the Board). |

Your command over your subordinates, by hook or by crook and never say no to even an impossible task to the top mangement.
Your showmanship before the top mangement is a must where you can represent even your failures as your success. If some how some of your failures pinches the top management, you should be able to represent them, by your convincing logic, as the most harmful for the interest of the company. But you must put some suggestion for some alternative to that project, which had been a cause of your failure.
That way you can become, not only goof, but even the best leader or manager in the eyes of the top management or the Board of the company. |
