iNfAmOus FlAkA | What method of comunication would a manager use to let an employe know that his/her performance was inadequte? |

private discussion
tell them what they are doing wrong
discuss ways to improve performance-ask what help they need-training, etc.
set up followup appt. to discuss progress. let them know your door is open (2 months or so-depends on position)
document discussion and decisions and give employee copy of this. |

It depends on the size of the company.
In a small business the boss would raise cain with the employee.
In a large business the manager would do two things.
First, the manager would give the employee an unsatisfactory performance review and have the employee sign the review.
Second, if performance was really bad the manager would write a letter that Human Resources would put in the employee's permanent file. (In this case I suspect that the employee would soon become an ex-employee.)
Hope this helps

According to Dale Carnegie in his book "How to win friends and influence people", the best way is to call attention to the person's mistakes indirectly. Find a way to do this, and the result will be most beneficial for both of you. If this does not work, you can have a private meeting with the employee and discuss problems and solutions. Begin with praise of what he/she is doing right and then move to improvements.
A good way to set a standard for all employees is to set some level of output or some standard that all employees must meet to keep their jobs and have a level of output or some standard that if employees meet, they get some sort of reward (such as a bonus or even just recognition within the business).
I hope it works out well for all concerned. |
